Dance Maxima! Shining Through A Ray (S.T.A.R)

Shining Through A Ray (S.T.A.R) is a program, which harnesses and portrays the personality of each individual through singing and dancing. In this program, pupils will be exposed to different genres of music from jazz, pop, hip hop to broadway musical styles, they will gain fundamental singing techniques and basic movements and steps of selected dance styles. At the end of the program, pupils will be able to showcase a song vocally with dance choreography.

  Learning Outcome

  1. Develop an appreciation of different genres of vocal music and dance (Pop, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre)

  2. Acquire proper singing techniques, the right posture, breathing techniques, voice projection, tone, blend, diction, intonation.

  3. Allow exploration of expressions in movement to at least 2 different dance styles

  4. Instill stage presence and self confidence

  5. To provide a platform for relationship building, cognitive development and creativity through progressive learning experience, group-based activities, movement improvisation and performing opportunities.
